"quitting can be a form of enlightenment"

“Quitting can be a form of enlightenment.” Danielle LaPorte’s words, infinitely wise and applicable.

This season, we look toward holidays, toward a new year, toward resolutions, new beginnings. How many times have we vowed to add something new to our lives at the stroke of midnight?

A new perspective: what can we

  • pare down?

  • simplify?

  • say no to?

  • give less of?

  • save for ourselves?

Quitting can be a form of enlightenment. It’s a way of saying, “This is not me. This is a distraction from my true self. This is not leading me toward the person I want to become.”

Alternately: why are you still doing this? Whom are you trying to impress?
